CVI.CHE 105 Downtown Miami

Hello Friends!

It’s been a couple weeks since I’ve posted. Is anyone else lacking inspiration right now? I’ve been having a tough time wanting to get back into the kitchen. I’m cooking the same thing every week in rotation and I’m starting to get bored of it, but don’t really want to do anything about it. Do you ever feel that way?

I have been thinking a lot about my past travels. One of my favorite things to do during those trips to to try local foods!

Before I begin, let me reiterate that I am not a professional food critic, or a food critic by any means. I’m just a local gal who enjoys trying new foods using Yelp as a guide when it’s within the states. So my descriptions are just that—simply and basic. I won’t go into details on the tasting notes and what it’s best paired with. These are just anecdotes from my experience and my simple taste buds!

My all time favorite, besides NYC, was Miami, FL. I had the best ceviche while I was there at CVI. CHE 105. I went back for lunch two days in a row! I haven’t had many ceviches in my life to be able to compare it with, but it was jaw dropping amazing.

Ceviche Ganador Fish

This picture was taken May 2019 while I was in Miami for a work conference. This sauce is their award winning sauce, so needless to say, I had to try it! It did not disappoint. My mouth is watering looking at this picture. I’m also really missing traveling at this moment!

The crispy corn gives the dish a whole other level of texture! I don’t recall it being spicy either, but it’s been so long.

The other dish I totally fell in love with was the Risotto Con Mariscos.

Risotto Con Mariscos

This dish is a “Peruvian-style risotto in a Huancaina sauce reduction and Peruvian Paria cheese, topped with Pisco 105 flambeed scallops and jumbo shrimps.”

It was so creamy and full of flavor! I have never had a risotto like this! It was to die for.

I will admit that I did go back the very next day for lunch and ordered the same dishes. Yes, I’m that type of person! Then by the third day, I did try a different main dish, but these two are still a favorite.

I hope we can go back sometime in the near future. We had a blast eating our way through Miami Beach! Hope you are able to give them a try if you are in the area!

Happy Travels!

XOXO,
Karmen
