This is smaller than the standard A2 card. I was roaming around Michael’s this morning and found the Derwent Inktense Pencils for 50% off! It was part of their “Best Deals” special. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Inktense pencils so I was super excited to use them. These are a little different than standard watercolor pencils in that these are water soluble. The colors are much richer so if you’re applying the pencils directly on the paper do so lightly.
Using Hero Arts’ Small Striped Flower Cling Stamp and clear embossing powder, I decided to go with an emboss resistant technique. I used an Aqua Brush directly on the Inktense Pencils to apply color on my image. I felt that this technique gave me more control.
I applied the Cuttlebug Charles embossing folder/strip for the background. I like the simplicity of the card this week. I wanted the flower to be the focal point.
